What are differences between the listing sources?
Listing Sources in YGL
Each listing in YGL comes from one of four possible sources. The source determines how much control you have over the listing details and whether it can be posted to outside brokers.
1. Internal (I)
-
Listings manually added by you or another user in your account.
-
Users with the proper privileges (e.g., Admin or Manager) have full control over these listings.
-
If the listing is exclusive, you may also post it to outside brokers on the platform to help rent the property.
2. Direct Post (Y)
-
Listings controlled and posted directly by landlords, management companies, or listing agents through YGL.
-
You cannot edit the listing details. To request a change, you must submit a request to the poster.
-
You are not authorized to post these listings with other brokers on any platform.
-
You may advertise these listings to procure renters, unless the poster specifies otherwise.
3. Data Entry Service (D)
-
Listings managed by the YGL Data Entry team on your behalf.
-
Functionally similar to Direct Post listings.
-
You cannot edit details directly; changes must be submitted as requests for YGL to process.
4. MLS (M)
-
Available for members of MLS (IL & MA only). YGL can import your MLSPIN or MRED listings into your account.
-
You cannot edit these listings in YGL. All updates must be made directly in your MLS account.
-
Once integrated, MLS listings can be emailed and displayed on your YGL personal site to showcase to leads.
How to Identify a Listing’s Source
You can see the source of any listing in two places:
-
Rentals Search Page – After performing a search, check the results table. To the left of each listing is a house icon containing a letter (I, Y, D, or M) that indicates the source.
-
Listing Details Page – Look for the Source field, which displays the listing’s origin.
